Olympics 2026: Ticket sales are off to a good start

Approximately twelve weeks before the Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, roughly half of all tickets have been sold.

As the organizing committee told dpa, more than 850.000 of the 1,6 million tickets have been sold. After host country Italy, most ticket orders and inquiries are said to be coming from Germany.

The most popular sports among the orders are ice hockey, biathlon, and cross-country skiing. The biathlon competitions, as is well known, take place in Antholz. But ski mountaineering, a new addition to the Olympic program, is also almost sold out.

For some disciplines, such as alpine skiing, bobsleigh, luge, ski jumping, and curling, individual tickets were no longer available on the official portal; only expensive hospitality packages were offered. According to the organizers, more than half of all tickets were available for less than €100 each.
