The German champions beat Auckland City of New Zealand 10-0 in their Group C opening match in Cincinnati on Sunday. Jamal Musiala stood out in the thrashing victory against the overwhelmed Oceania Champions League winners with a hat trick within 16 minutes. Boca Juniors will play the parallel match against Benfica on Tuesday night.

"We won't get much praise for this game," FCB coach Vincent Kompany had already known before the match. The Belgian named new signing Jonathan Tah and departing Bayern icon Thomas Müller in the starting lineup. The second match of the Club World Cup was one-sided and had the feel of a relaxed summer camp friendly. The favorites weren't challenged by the amateurs and semi-professionals from Auckland, so the lively scoring began in the sixth minute through Kingsley Coman.
