4 months later: Tait back in the FCS squad

Fabian Tait played his last game for FC Südtirol on October 19th. On Sunday, the FCS captain will return to the White-Reds' squad for the first time in Brescia. A lot has happened since then.

When Fabian Tait last played, Federico Valente was still FCS coach. Marco Zaffaroni's short era left virtually no trace on the Salurn native. Fabrizio Castori has been in charge of the White-Reds since December 8th - and Tait is now part of his squad for the first time. This should give FC Südtirol a boost in the relegation battle - especially from a mental point of view.

The 32-year-old had to undergo an operation on his thigh. He is not used to being out for such a long time. Tait has been a real endurance runner for over a decade. The midfielder also played the entire first two years in Serie B. In the next few weeks, the man from Lower Austria should find his form again so that he can then become important on the pitch again.

Where it all began

In recent weeks, the FCS has worked its way up to a play-off spot. "We have made great progress, but the table shows that we are still in a difficult situation. It is not yet the time to take stock. The team's development is undoubtedly positive, but there is still a long way to go and we must not let up now," explained coach Castori on Friday.

In August 2022, FCS made its Serie B debut in Brescia.

A six-point game awaits the South Tyroleans in Brescia on Sunday. The Lombards, who are coached by Rolando Maran from Trentino, have only one point more than FCS. Incidentally, in August 2022, two and a half years ago, Tait & Co. played their first game in Serie B at the Rigamonti Stadium. The final score was 2-0 for Brescia.
