Bari is shooting its way to staying in Serie B

All relegation questions in the second highest Italian league have been resolved: Ternana follows Ascoli, FeralpiSalò and Lecco in the third division. Big club Bari, on the other hand, can breathe a sigh of relief.

In the completely sold out Stadio Liberati in Terni, last year's playoff finalists Bari achieved a crystal clear 3-0 win. Added up with the 1-1 result from the playout first leg, the following picture emerges: Ternana has to be relegated to Serie C, Bari remains second class and will therefore be an opponent of FC Südtirol next season.

Bari's captain and crowd favorite Valerio Di Cesare, who will be leaving the club at the end of the season, shot the southern Italians 1-0 ahead just before half-time. Giacomo Ricci and Giuseppe Sibilli expanded on this at the start of the second half. Ternana had nothing left to counter this. The team from Umbria, which was extremely weak in the first half of the season, is heading back to the third division after three years.
