Big question mark surrounding the FCS defense boss

Nicola Pietrangeli has been the central figure in FC Südtirol's back three for about a year. However, the 25-year-old could now be out for an extended period.

As FCS announced on Wednesday, Pietrangeli has been diagnosed with pubic bone inflammation. Therefore, the FC Südtirol defensive leader cannot currently participate in team training. Pietrangeli is working on his rehabilitation individually.

Last year, Pietrangeli made 29 appearances and scored four goals for the White and Reds. The physically strong defender was a regular starter this year as well, when fit. Pietrangeli was also unable to play against Pescara three weeks ago. He felt severe pain during the warm-up. A few days later, he played the full 90 minutes against Empoli.

How long Pietrangeli will be out is completely unclear. The fact is: the pubic bone inflammation, which is not uncommon in football, could keep him out of action for months. However, a quicker return cannot be ruled out.
