FC Südtirol wants to improve against the bottom team

After the important victory in Palermo, FC Südtirol's Serie B campaign continues on Sunday. Fabian Tait & Co. host bottom-placed Cosenza on their home turf.

With three rounds remaining, including the catch-up match against Bari, FC Südtirol currently holds 41th place in the table with 11 points. Coach Fabrizio Castori's team, who last matchday equaled Guido Mazzetti, the previous record holder for most Serie B matches as a coach, has recently made a clear statement in the fight to avoid relegation.

However, FCS will be without Castori for the upcoming home game against Cosenza – the 69-year-old is still serving a suspension and will not be on the sidelines. Furthermore, numerous players in FC Südtirol's ranks, including Hamza El Kaouakibi, Raphael Kofler, Andrea Masiello, Matteo Rover, Simone Davi, Daniele Casiraghi, Salvatore Molina, and Frederic Veseli, are at risk of yellow card suspensions.

Thanks to two consecutive wins against Juve Stabia and Palermo, the White and Reds are now three points clear of the relegation zone and just three points behind the playoff spots. They now look to take the next important step toward survival at their home Drusus Stadium against bottom-placed Cosenza.

Clear performance improvement at Cosenza

Nevertheless, FCS should not underestimate the Calabrian side. Although Cosenza currently sits at the bottom of the table with 30 points, a four-point deduction in the early stages of the season played a significant role in this. Furthermore, the visitors' form has been significantly improving recently.

Since the return of coach Massimiliano Alvini—who returned to the bench in March after being temporarily suspended at the end of February—Cosenza has picked up five points in its last four matches, most recently beating Bari 1-0.
