Will Fabian Tait return to the starting eleven?

Fabian Tait has had a turbulent few months. Now, the FC Südtirol captain could make his first start in a long time on Saturday.

Tait last appeared in FCS's starting lineup on October 19, 2024. The 32-year-old professional was completely out of action for months. A hip tendon injury sidelined him. This was not an easy time for the Salurn native either, off the pitch. In recent games, Tait has repeatedly come off the bench and made brief appearances.

On Saturday (15 p.m.) in Mantua, the time could be right for his return to the starting eleven. Mateusz Praszelik is suspended. The big question is who will replace the Pole in defense? "Belardinelli, Martini, or Tait are all possible options. Kofler could also play there," explained coach Fabrizio Castori at the final press conference. The 70-year-old is known for never revealing his cards when it comes to the lineup.

What is certain, however, is that FC Südtirol's next six-point game awaits Mantova. The team, led by Val Gardena midfielder David Wieser, hasn't won a Serie B match in eight matches. Three of the last four matches were lost before the international break. Mantova's Davide Possanzini, who stands for attractive football and was Roberto De Zerbi's assistant coach for many years, is therefore under pressure.
