Lorenzo Sgarbi stands in his own way

The regular season of Serie C is already over, and relatively little has happened abroad: That's why the focus of our "Outside Sales" section, in which we examine the performances of South Tyrolean football professionals over the weekend, is this time on Serie B.

Lorenzo Sgarbi is playing his first Serie B season this year. After an unfortunate first half of the season at Bari, the 24-year-old has established himself at Juve Stabia in recent games. But now Sgarbi has suffered another setback: In the 0-0 draw at Brescia, the Bolzano native was sent off with a red card after 43 minutes.

What happened? After an opponent tried to restrain him, Sgarbi lost his temper and elbowed the Brescia defender in the face. After a video review, the referee sent him off with a red card. Sgarbi had already attracted attention during the away game in Bolzano against FC Südtirol a good week ago.

What else happened in Serie B? Manuel DeLuca was substituted on after one hour in Cremonese's 1-1 draw with Sassuolo. Emanuele Zuelli and Simone Zanon both started in Carrarese’s 2-1 home win against Modena, while David Wieser (Mantova) this time sat on the bench for 90 minutes.

In the Austrian Bundesliga played Simon Straud in Carsten Jancker's coaching debut. Austria Klagenfurt drew 1-1 with GAK. Max Reinthaler is currently completely left out of the squad at 1860 Munich (3rd division Germany) and was not even in the squad.
