FC Südtirol heads into the Christmas break with a 1-1 draw. Raphael Odogwu scored the equalizer in the very last second in Chiavari, after the Red and Whites had previously delivered a lackluster and weak performance. FCS has now gone twelve games without a win.

Virtus Entella had the same number of points as FCS before the match, and had lost all of their last three games. This streak came to an end on Sunday, but the 1-1 draw doesn't really help either team. At least both teams remain outside the relegation zone and can therefore spend Christmas above the dreaded relegation line. Serie B resumes on December 27th. FCS plays away against Juve Stabia.

On the artificial turf pitch in Chiavari, home of Virtus Entella, FCS displayed dreadful football for 93 minutes. Technically and in terms of play, it was one of the weakest Serie B matches of the season – from both teams. Nevertheless, it was Virtus Entella who took the lead shortly before halftime. After a disastrous misplaced pass by Frederic Veseli, Alessandro Debenedetti headed in a cross to make it 1-0 for the home side (43').

Odogwu scores late in stoppage time

And that seemed to be how it would stay, as FCS failed to create a single scoring opportunity in the second half. (The entire game history can be read here). But in stoppage time, Entella needlessly conceded a corner kick, which ultimately led to the equalizer for FCS. With goalkeeper Marius Adamonis in the Entella penalty area, the FCS players caused so much unrest that the home side failed to clear the ball despite several attempts. Finally, Raphael Odogwu scored to make it 1-1 (90+4).
