Severe punishment for FCS coach Castori

It had been apparent that Fabrizio Castori had overstepped the bounds in the recent league match against Empoli. Now the sports judge has handed the 71-year-old coach of FC Südtirol a hefty punishment.

Fabrizio Castori already received a few red cards last season. This year, however, the FCS coach seems to have even less control, as he was sent off the bench for the second game in a row against Empoli.

For his behavior before and after the red card shown to him by the referee after 66 minutes, Castori has now been given a massive fine. He's banned from the stadium for three matches and must watch from the stands. He must also pay a fine of €5.000.

The sports judge's reasoning: Castori adopted an intimidating attitude toward the fourth official and also sought physical contact. He also uttered "disrespectful remarks" that contained "disrespectful criticism of the match management." Due to the suspension, Castori will miss the matches against Mantova, his former club Cesena, and Venezia. He will not be allowed back on the bench until November 1st against Padova.

Kofler suspended for one game

Meanwhile, Raphael Kofler, who was sent off with a red card after five minutes, was suspended for one match. The Rabland native pulled the emergency brake on Stiven Shpendi and was taken off for "preventing a clear goal-scoring opportunity." The one-match suspension was to be expected.
