Raphael Odogwu (with the ball) and FC Südtirol have finally won again.
Finally a victory again: The redemption of FC Südtirol
FC Südtirol has been through the most difficult period in its Serie B history in recent weeks. But now the White-Reds have made an impressive comeback with a memorable victory.

When referee Maria Sole Ferrieri Caputi blew her whistle three times on Saturday evening in the San Nicola Stadium, sealing FC Südtirol's 1-0 victory over Bari, the FCS players' joy knew no bounds. The players hugged each other, jumped around in circles, hugged each other. The White-Reds are alive - and how!
Since October 6, i.e. for more than two months, the FCS has been chasing these three points. After two coaching changes, the victory is now a reality - and it bears the signature of Fabrizio Castori in bold. The 70-year-old veteran coach has breathed new passion, a new aura, and even new life into the White-Reds in a very short space of time. And he has once again shown a lucky hand.
winning goal just seconds after substitution
A week ago, in the 2-2 draw against Mantova, Castori brought on a goalscorer, Matteo Rover, and now he also sent the match winner onto the field from the bench against Bari. In the 89th minute, the football coach brought on striker Valerio Crespi and winger Hamza El Kaouakibi, who scored the winning goal just a few seconds later: Crespi made a strong pass into the middle after a Casiraghi cross, where El Kaouakibi scored in pure goal-scoring style to make it 1-0 (90th+1) - and the celebrations knew no bounds.Played strongly in central defense: Nicola Pietrangeli.
Although the goal was only scored in injury time, it was well deserved. FC Südtirol was the better team in Bari, missing several top-class chances. At the back, FCS finally showed its strength and kept a clean sheet after what felt like an eternity. With this victory, the White-Reds are (at least temporarily) out of the direct relegation zone. But much more importantly: In the fight to stay in the league, Casiraghi & Co. have gained a huge amount of self-confidence.
The highlights
huge opportunity | Ten minutes have passed and FCS has its first big chance. The strong Merkaj passes to Odogwu, whose shot from five meters goes wide. |
Riesen-Chance II | Merkaj is sent on his way by Casiraghi and appears alone in front of Bari keeper Radunovic. But he shoots at the goalkeeper (54'). |
Riesen-Chance III | After chaos in Bari's defense, Rover and Zedadka had the chance to make it 1-0, but failed to put the ball in the net (80'). |
huge cheers | In the 91st minute, the goal drought was broken. Cross from Casiraghi, strong pass from Crespi – and then El Kaouakibi shot his South Tyroleans to victory! |
