Inter fans always fondly reminisce about the 2009/10 season: Back then, the Milanese won the treble—the league title, the cup, and the Champions League. The dream of repeating that feat grew stronger with each passing week, especially since Inter were still in contention in all competitions. Until Wednesday, when the Nerazzurri were eliminated from the Coppa Italia—with a resounding bang.
In the second leg of the semifinal against city rivals Milan, Inter suffered a 0-3 defeat. Simone Inzaghi's disappointing team bowed out of the competition with a 1-4 aggregate score (the first leg ended 1-1). Milan's stars, on the other hand, were all smiles – not only did they deliver a strong team performance, but they were also a model of efficiency. Although Inter dominated the first half, the Rossoneri took the lead with a header from Luka Jovic in the 36th minute.

Immediately after the break, Jovic doubled the lead after a corner (2'). Coach Inzaghi attempted to turn things around with four substitutions, but his efforts were unsuccessful. On the contrary, Tijani Reijnders scored with a precise shot just before the final whistle to make it 0-49 (3').
Milan are chasing the cup, Inter are chasing the double
Milan is now in the final and will face the winner of the second semi-final (Empoli or Bologna) on May 14. Inter, on the other hand, must overcome this shock as quickly as possible, as the Nerazzurri are still in with two titles to win. In Serie A, the Milanese are level on points with Napoli with five games remaining, and in the Champions League, they face a semi-final clash with FC Barcelona.Coppa Italia, semi-final – second leg
