Success in the Serie C Cup
After two years in Sardinia with Sassari Torres, Manuel Fischnler He moved to Sicily—specifically, Trapani—in the summer. The 34-year-old helped his new club advance to the next round of the Serie C Cup against Picerno. Luke Mazagg secured a starting spot at Ulm in the third German Bundesliga at the start of the season. The Glurns native also played a key role in the defense in the DFB Cup against second-division Elversberg. However, the Swabians lost 0-1. In the Austrian second division, Austria Salzburg won its first match of the season at the third attempt. The newly promoted team from the city of Mozart beat Rapid Vienna's reserves 4-2. Matthias Theiner played for Salzburg from the start.
