Obermais striker Seaton: “I love Merano”

FC Obermais signed a true globetrotter this summer in Michael Seaton. The Jamaican immediately settled in well in South Tyrol and secured Obermais a point in Portogruaro with his first goal on Sunday.

USA, Sweden, Israel, Germany, and now South Tyrol. These are the stops for Michael Seaton, FC Obermais' new Jamaican striker. The "Reggae Boy" has already made first-division appearances in the MLS, the Allsvenskan, and Israel, and has also earned 14 caps for his home country.

On Sunday Seaton scored his first goal in Portogruaro for Obermais. The striker scored after two minutes, assisted by Manuel Brusco, to give them a 1-0 lead. In the end, it was enough to secure a 1-1 draw. "Like all games, it was very difficult. But we found a way to take a point," said Seaton. "Now we have to improve the bad things and hold on to the good things until the next match." The Blue and Whites' next game is at home. This coming Sunday, they host Campodarsego (15 p.m.).

Moved to Merano with my girlfriend

Seaton is a true globetrotter. The contact came about in the summer because Obermais was looking for a replacement for the then-injured Brusco. Seaton played for Viktoria Köln in the 3rd division in Germany, then for various clubs in the fourth-tier Regionalliga.

The 29-year-old, who moved to the spa town with his girlfriend Nahoe, immediately felt at home in South Tyrol: "I love Merano. The people are very friendly to me and my girlfriend. I love looking at the mountains every morning and breathing in the fresh air."

Seaton also has nothing but warm words for FC Obermais: "I feel like I've truly arrived at the club. The players and staff are very supportive. Here, I've been shown that FCO is more than just a football club. It's a family."
