In the summer of 2020, Edoardo Ghiotti moved from FC Südtirol's youth team to Maia Alta. For the then 17-year-old from Merano, joining the best club in his city was the logical step.

Ghiotti isn't a homegrown player from Obermais. Rather, the left-footer comes from the youth system of Olimpia Merano, which hadn't yet merged with FC Merano at the time. Ghiotti impressed immediately in Obermais. He now even plays a key role.
