Eva Schatzer won the Italian championship with Juventus this year – as a regular starter. The young lady from Varna also scored three goals herself. Only at the European Championships in Switzerland, when Italy sensationally reached the semifinals, did Schatzer not play a single minute. SportNewsspoke with Schatzer in Bolzano South about...
...the performance at the European Championships: "As a team, we performed brilliantly. Nobody expected us. We got further than people expected. We were confident in our potential and could have made it even further. The way we were eliminated in the end was bitter, but we certainly would have signed up for a place in the semifinals beforehand."
... their lack of European Championship match practice: "I already knew it would be difficult because we're well-positioned in midfield. Of course, I'm disappointed, but also happy that we performed well as a team. It was a good first experience for me, and I hope to get playing time at the next tournaments. The next World Cup in Brazil is a big goal for me."
Eva Schatzer won the Scudetto with Juventus.
...her rise at Juve: "Last season, all my expectations were exceeded. I had no pressure and arrived as a young player with little experience. I didn't have anything to prove. That will change now. I want to continue to establish myself at Juve and hope that things will take me as far as possible."
“I would love to win a tournament with the national team.” Eva Schatzer
...their everyday life: "During preseason, we have two training sessions per day. Otherwise, we train once and have free time in the afternoon. I use this time for my online sports science studies. Apart from that, of course, you're on the road a lot with football. You have to live a very disciplined life if you want to make it to the top."
...Turin as a place of residence: "The city center is really beautiful. However, I don't go there that often. When I do, it's usually on my days off for coffee with my teammates. I live a little outside of Turin because that's where the training center is. It's a really nice place to live. There are mountains, lakes, and lots of greenery nearby."

...her teammate Alisha Lehmann: "I never would have thought she'd be so nice. She's been battling prejudices about not being that good at football. As a person, I can only say she's top-notch. The advantage is that, as a Swiss, I can also speak German with her."
...your goals for the future: "I would love to win a tournament with the national team. The Champions League is, of course, also a big goal. My dream is to play abroad—in England, Spain, or Germany, for example. FC Barcelona, for example, would be a big deal."
