Next victory: Pfattner dreams of the premier class

Elisa Pfattner from Latzfons moved to Austria Vienna this summer and celebrated another success in the Champions League qualification on Saturday afternoon.

The Austria Vienna women's soccer team is in the third and final qualifying round of the Champions League. In the final of the second-round tournament, held in Vienna, they defeated FC Minsk 3-0 (2-0) on Saturday. On Wednesday, they also beat Glasgow Rangers 2-0 at the Franz Horr Stadium. The draw for the third round will take place on Sunday (3:12.00 p.m.).

Courtney Strode scored twice against Belarus (9th, 60th/penalty) and Carina Wenninger (45th). Pfattner, who has settled in well in Vienna, once again started on the right wing. She played in all three of her team's goals before being substituted for Emily Schäfer in the 78th minute.

Although the Minsk team has already scored over 100 goals in the Belarusian championship, their accuracy was lacking against Austria's runners-up. Last year, they were eliminated in the first qualifying round. This week's two matches marked Austria Vienna's European Cup debut, and on Sunday afternoon, their attention, like those of the champions from St. Pölten, will turn to Nyon, the draw venue.

One hurdle still awaits

In the third round, 18 teams will compete in a knockout format with home and away matches. The winners will qualify for the Champions League league phase, while the losing teams will advance to the newly created UEFA Women's European Cup.
