South Tyrol's female footballers are making waves

The South Tyrolean women's Europeada team played a prestigious friendly match against Wacker Innsbruck this weekend and won by a clear margin.

The South Tyroleans won clearly 2-5 against the North Tyroleans, who play in the 0nd Bundesliga, in Innsbruck on Sunday.


Since several regular players were unable to participate, South Tyrolean coaches Denise Ferraris and Daniela Consolati called up several young players, who impressed across the board. Goals from Lea Messner (21st minute), Leonie Oberhollenzer (43rd minute), Manuela Peintner (51st minute), Hannah Bielak (62nd minute), and Lena Niedermair (75th minute) helped the South Tyroleans celebrate a well-deserved 5-0 victory.
