After Schatzer, Nischler too: International matches with two South Tyroleans

On October 24, Italy will face Japan, and four days later, Brazil will visit Parma. For the Azzurre, this means two high-profile friendlies are on the schedule. And for all South Tyrolean football fans, they'll also have the chance to watch the country's two best female footballers in action.
Eva Schatzer and Nadine Nischler were nominated by national coach Andrea Soncin for the two international matches. While Schatzer, originally from Varna (4 caps), is nothing new, Nischler is breaking new ground. The Lower Vinschgau native has previously "only" played for the Under-19s and has now received her second national team call-up. The attacking midfielder was already called up for a friendly against Germany in December 2024, but did not play that time.

The 24-year-old Nischler is a top performer for Como and recently decided the top clash against Juventus. It's a nice coincidence that the match against Japan is being played in Como. Schatzer, on the other hand, has already played in a European Championship for La Azzurre. The 20-year-old from the Eisacktal valley has long been a regular starter for Juventus and was even given the captain's armband recently.International matches in October
