Frenchman Ousmane Dembélé of Champions League winner Paris Saint-Germain has been named World Footballer of the Year.

Ousmane Dembélé has been named FIFA World Player of the Year for the first time. The Frenchman from Paris Saint-Germain beat his compatriot Kylian Mbappé (Real Madrid) and Spaniard Lamine Yamal in the voting. The 28-year-old succeeds Brazilian Vinicius Junior. Aitana Bonmatí of FC Barcelona, also from Spain, was honored as the world's best female player for the third consecutive time.

National coaches, team captains, football journalists and fans participated in the vote via the official FIFA website.
Spaniard Luis Enrique was named World Coach of the Year 2025. He led Paris Saint-Germain to their first Champions League title, beating out, among others, Hansi Flick of FC Barcelona. Sarina Wiegman was chosen as the best female coach. The Dutchwoman led England to their third European Championship title as national team coach last summer.

Best male goalkeeper and best female goalkeeper

FIFA had previously announced other awards. Gianluigi Donnarumma was named World Goalkeeper of the Year. The 26-year-old Italian prevailed against seven competitors, including Manuel Neuer of Bayern Munich. The women's award went to England's national goalkeeper and European champion Hannah Hampton of Chelsea. Both Donnarumma and the 25-year-old Hampton had already won the Ballon d'Or earlier this year.
