Was already at the Europeada in 2016 and 2022 with the Ladin ladies: Giuana Prugger.

Europeada: These are the Ladin ladies

There were only 4 women's teams at the Europeada 2022 among the Carinthian Slovenes, and there were 9 of them in the first week of July in North and South Silesia (Denmark and Schleswig-Holstein/Germany), when the women were the best minorities for the 3rd time -Determine the European team.

The Ladin women's team is taking part for the third time, and unlike two years ago, this time they are in a top position in every respect. While Giuana Prugger only arrived with 3 squad players two years ago, this time the selection team includes 2 more players.

Head coach Hanspeter Graffonara (he coached Val Badia in the 3rd amateur league last season), who looked after the Ladin women two years ago, is very satisfied with the squad: “This time we are much better positioned than two years ago. I am convinced that we can play a good role at Europeada. Almost all of the players are in action at top clubs such as FC Südtirol Women or the Oberliga teams Pfalzen, Schlern and FFC Pustertal. The three players who are without a club have actually ended their active careers, but are helping us out again at the tournament and are a great asset with their experience.” Graffonara has already completed 3 training sessions with the Ladin women and will also meet on June 1st and 15th before the only test match against the South Tyrol women in Rungg on June 22nd.

The Ladin women play in preliminary group C against South Schleswig (Danish in Germany) and against the Sorbs, also a minority in Germany. The second edition of the Europeada took place in Lusatia in 2012; there was no women's tournament at that time. At the premiere in 2 in South Tyrol, the Sorbian women's selection team took 2016th place. In terms of potential, both opponents are beatable for Prugger & Co.

The Ladin women will play their preliminary round games on July 1st and 2nd in Harrislee and Schleswig (both in southern Schleswig, i.e. in Germany). In addition to Giuana Prugger, the team is led by Noemi Erlacher, Kristin Ploner and Veronica Moling.
