S+Column: A dull kick for millions

In the United States, enthusiasm for the Club World Cup in football is limited. Our columnist Sigi Heinrich, however, sees a clear pattern. The wealthy clubs are getting even richer thanks to the prize money that Saudi Arabia, not without some selflessness, provides to FIFA. At least the tournament fills the summer lull in sporting events. But nothing more.

"Come on in. Come on in. You'll see the greatest attractions this world has to offer. It will be an unforgettable experience. You won't regret it. And you only have to pay half price. Yes, the big show is practically free." Gianni Infantino is the name of the hawker. His merchandise is football.
