Moment of shock for Milan keeper Mike Maignan

Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan is feeling better after his violent collision with his own defender Alex Jimenez in the match between AC Milan and Udinese Calcio (4-0).

The French international was released from the hospital after examinations, the Italian news agency Ansa reported, citing AC Milan. He was ordered to rest completely until Tuesday.

Maignan collided with Jimenez on Friday evening. The two collided heads and upper bodies at full speed, leaving Maignan motionless. There were angry scenes on the pitch: Milan and Udine players frantically flagged for emergency services. Maignan was immediately treated by team doctors and paramedics and stretchered off the pitch.

The 29-year-old Frenchman spent the entire night in a hospital in the northern Italian city of Udine for observation. According to Ansa, he is scheduled to undergo further examinations next Tuesday. As the daily newspaper "Gazzetta dello Sport" reported, if the results are positive, Maignan could gradually return to training with the Rossoneri on the pitch. Milan will face Atalanta Bergamo in Serie A on April 20.
