Barcelona overwhelms Olympiakos in the Champions League

FC Barcelona warmed up for this weekend's Clasico against Real Madrid with a goal fest in the Champions League.

In the 6-1 (2-0) victory over Greek champions Olympiacos Piraeus, Fermin Lopez shone with a hat-trick (7', 38', 76'), Marcus Rashford scored twice (74', 79'), and Lamine Yamal converted from the penalty spot (68'). The visitors pulled one back with a VAR penalty converted by Ayoub El Kaabi (53'). However, after a harsh second yellow card and red card (57'), Barca turned things around despite notable absences (including Lewandowski, Raphinha, Olmo, and Gavi). Hansi Flick's team now has six points after three matches of the league phase.

In the underdog clash between Kairat Almaty and Pafos, the hosts were unable to capitalize on a numerical advantage for over 85 minutes. After the 0-0 draw, both the Kazakhs and the Cypriots are still waiting for their first Champions League victory in their club's history.
