Will Claudio Ranieri take over the Squadra Azzurra?

Claudio Ranieri is currently being touted as a possible successor to Luciano Spalletti as Italy's national coach.

Spalletti was sacked after a disappointing 0-3 defeat to Norway in World Cup qualifying. Ranieri, who had previously announced his retirement from coaching, expressed his openness to a return if the Italian FA approached him.

In November 2024, Ranieri made a surprise return to AS Roma, taking over as coach for the third time. Under his leadership, the team showed a significant improvement in performance, finishing the season in fifth place in Serie A. After the season, he was appointed sporting advisor. The 73-year-old was succeeded by Atalanta's Gian Piero Gasperini.
