Heidi Klum to host World Cup draw in Washington

Heidi Klum (52) will play a key role in the final draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The German supermodel will co-host the event on Friday (18.00 p.m. CET) in Washington with US actor and comedy star Kevin Hart and actor Danny Ramirez, as announced by the world governing body FIFA.

“Having already been involved in this show twenty years ago in my home country, it’s very special to be hosting the draw again,” said Klum, who also appeared at the draw for the 2006 World Cup in Germany. “The World Cup unites the world like nothing else, and it’s an incredible honor to be part of this magic again – this time on an even bigger stage with three host countries and 48 teams.”

International music acts

In addition to Heidi Klum and her co-hosts, FIFA is relying on entertainment with global stars: Performances by Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and pop star Robbie Williams, accompanied by Nicole Scherzinger, are planned. After the draw, the band Village People will entertain the worldwide audience of millions with their global hit "YMCA".

According to the White House, US President Donald Trump also plans to attend the event. There had been recent speculation that the 79-year-old Republican could receive the new FIFA Peace Prize at the ceremony.

The FIFA World Cup will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, in the USA, Mexico, and Canada. For the first time, the World Cup group stage will feature 48 teams.
