The team around PSG star Achraf Hakimi defeated Egypt 6-0 (2-0) in the African duel for bronze on Friday in Nantes. Soufiane Rahimi scored a brace. The Saudi Arabian legionnaire scored in all of his Olympic appearances and finished the tournament with eight goals.

It is Morocco's first Olympic medal in football and the sixth for the African continent. Nigeria won the tournament in Atlanta in 1996 and Cameroon won the tournament in Sydney in 2000.
