Goal and assist: Victor Osimhen leads Nigeria into the semi-finals

Victor Osimhen has led Nigeria to the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The Galatasaray player scored the decisive opening goal (47th minute) in the 2-0 quarter-final victory against Algeria and provided a perfect assist for Akor Adams' second goal ten minutes later. Algeria's goalkeeper Luca Zidane, son of French football icon Zinédine Zidane, was beaten twice. Nigeria will play hosts Morocco in the semi-final on Wednesday for a place in the final.

Ivory Coast's dream of another Africa Cup of Nations triumph has been shattered. The defending champions fell behind early to a goal from Omar Marmoush (4th minute), and Rami Rabia added another (32nd minute). An own goal by Ahmed El Fotouh (40th minute) gave the Ivorians renewed hope, but Mohamed Salah made it 3-1 (52nd minute). Ivory Coast's second goal, scored by Guela Doue (73rd minute), came too late. Egypt will now face Senegal in the semi-final on Wednesday in Tangier.
