Dead football fan: First details revealed

The fatal fall of a football fan during the Nations League final in Munich continues to occupy investigators.

Police continue to believe it was an accident. According to police statements on Tuesday, the investigation is ongoing, and an autopsy is pending.

Following the tragic incident, police reviewed videos from the stadium and interviewed witnesses. The fan was a 34-year-old from the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district. He was described as heavily intoxicated. According to police, he was in the stadium with a large group.

The man fell from the middle tier onto a staircase in the lower tier during the final between Portugal and Spain at the Allianz Arena on Sunday evening. He died at the scene.
