First goal: Raphael Kofler scores for Italy's U20

Raphael Kofler is the up-and-comer in what has been a rather disappointing season for FC Südtirol. Now the Rabland native has made headlines with Italy's U20 national team.

Kofler played his third game for the U20s on Tuesday afternoon at the Viola Park in Florence. In the 4-1 victory over Romania, the 19-year-old scored the 3-0 goal just before half-time. After a corner, Kofler, who was playing in central defence, put his foot out in the middle and slotted the ball in.

For Kofler, it was his first goal in an Italian youth team. The defender has not yet scored in 24 appearances for FC Südtirol either. This year, the Lower Vinschgau native started 8 times in Serie B and mostly showed strong performances. His path continues to go steeply upwards.
