Brixen gets Pföstl and convinces in the tests

This Saturday, the Falcons Brixen kick off the new Italian Hockey League (IHL) season with a home game against Valdifiemme (18 p.m.). The club has already created a positive atmosphere with a signing and strong test match results.

Last weekend, the first edition of the Giorgio Centofante Memorial Tournament took place in Brixen. The Falcons faced HC 3 Zinnen Dolomites and HC Eppan. The home team showed their best side, celebrating two decisive victories. Toblach beat Gabriel Vinatzer & Co. 5-3, and the Pirates 7-2. Ken Eddy's team thus secured the tournament victory. In the third match, Eppan defeated Toblach 5-3.

David Pföstl, a new face, was in the Falcons' lineup for these test games. The 25-year-old from Merano trained with the Eagles but also played in North America for five years. After returning from the United States, he defended for four more seasons with HC Merano before moving to Aosta last summer. He and the Gladiators lost to SV Kaltern in the IHL final.

The 1,96-meter-tall, 112-kilogram defender is expected to provide defensive cohesion for the Falcons. "Pföstl brings a wealth of experience and an explosive blend of physicality, stability, and power. Added to that is a powerful shot, which also makes him dangerous offensively," the club describes him.
