Brixen had suffered three consecutive defeats, but on Thursday they finally broke their losing streak: In front of 77 spectators at their home arena, the cathedral city team initially demonstrated their comeback qualities against the Fassa Falcons, finding the right answer to three times after falling behind. Goals from Andres Felipe (38, 40), David Pföstl (44, 56), and Erik Hofer (52, 17) ultimately paved the way for their fourth win of the season in the Falcons derby. Shortly before the end, Grant Docter sealed the victory with the final goal (59, 19) after Alfeo Deluca had briefly narrowed the gap (57, 6).
Although Brixen remain in ninth place in the standings, they have moved significantly closer to the middle of the table with 14 points. This is encouraging news for the Eisack Valley team, as they face a series of tough matches in the coming weeks: On Saturday, the Falcons host fourth-placed Alleghe, followed by clashes with Valpellice (November 8th/29th), Varese (December 2nd/6th), and SV Kaltern (December 1st/13th).
Kaltern triumphs, Eppan defeats Toblach
The latter apparently cannot satisfy his hunger for goals. On the 7:3 victory over HC 3 Zinnen Dolomites The Pike then followed up with another spectacular performance: Against HC Feltre, the team led by Maximilian Sölva and Florian Wieser, who each scored twice, once again gifted the hosts seven goals. In their last six games, the South Tyrolean goal machine, who now sit atop the table with a three-point lead after Varese's 2-3 defeat against Valpellice, have racked up an impressive 34 goals.SV Kaltern celebrated another comfortable victory. © Max Pattis
HC 3 Zinnen Dolomites can only dream of such a haul. The Polar Bears suffered a 2-5 defeat away to HC Eppan. With five points after 13 games, Toblach remains at the bottom of the league, with second-to-last Feltre already five points ahead.
