Landslide victory: Kaltern overwhelms Brixen

On Thursday evening, Kaltern achieved a clear victory in the IHL against the Falcons from Brixen. Eppan, on the other hand, had a nerve-wracking thriller against Fassa.

SV Kaltern continued its impressive form in the current IHL season on Thursday evening and confidently defeated the HC Falcons from Brixen 4:0. Kaltern took the lead early in the game with goals from Matteo Cappuccio (2.14) and Mattia Clericuzio (4.55) and never let the Falcons get into the game. They also extended their lead in the second period with goals from Mikael Oskari Siiki (23.57) and Raphael Felderer (25.21).

But the Pikes remained hungry even after the 4-0 lead and went one better in the third period. Moritz Selva scored the 5-0 before Florian Wieser scored two goals - one in the power play - to make it 7-0. Mattia Clericuzio put the final point on the scoreboard to make it 8-0. The result underlined the existing dominance of Kaltern, who maintained their position at the top of the table with this victory.

On the other hand, the difficult season of the Falcons from Brixen continues. With only three wins in 20 games, Brixen is in second to last place in the table.

Eppan's nerve-wracking thriller

Eppan had a real ice hockey battle against the Fassa Falcons. A total of 13 goals were scored in the game, and a constant change of lead kept the tension high. With four minutes to go, the score was still 6:6, but this game was not to go into overtime, as Daniel Eruzione shot the Pirates to victory with his 7:6 winner just moments before the final whistle.

For the decisive goalscorer, this also meant a hat trick and for Eppan the tenth victory of the season as well as an important step towards the master round.
