The fifth season has begun in the IHL. Kaltern did not let themselves down at the start. The Hechte, who finished the Master Round in first place, beat Valpellice 3-0 at home and thus took the lead in the series.
After just three minutes of play, the Caldaro team had already steered the game in the right direction. Oskari Siiki put the home team in the lead. Shortly before the end of the third period, Luca De Donà secured the 2:0 lead in a power play. Jonas Oberrauch put the finishing touches to the game with a goal in a power play just eight minutes before the end of the game.
Eppan defeats Feltre
HC Eppan also had a successful start to the playoffs. The Überetsch team, who had a difficult master round with nine defeats from ten games, beat cup winners Feltre 5:3. The decisive factor was the middle third, in which the Pirates scored three goals and thus set the course for victory.Leo Zublasing & Co. surprised in Feltre. © Jan Marc Zublasing
After falling behind early on, Eppan turned things around. Tobias Morandell scored the equalizer in the first period before Alan Schwingshackl, Daniel Eruzione, Jagger Williamson and Martin Graf built up a four-goal lead. Despite two goals from the home team in the final minutes of the game, nothing stood in the way of the Pirates' victory.
