In the 2022/23 season, Adam Capannelli and Hector Majul formed a dream duo for the Toblach Icebears. Together, the forwards combined for 114 points in 28 games. While the Italian-Canadian subsequently moved to Sterzing and became a fixture with the Wipptal Broncos, the Mexican remained in Toblach. In 2023, he played another 17 games for the club before moving on to Varese in December. Last season, he once again demonstrated his skills for Valpellice, ultimately collecting an impressive 57 points (29 goals).
In April, he also captained Mexico from the seventh to the sixth division. Impressive: He scored 15 goals in just five matches. Now he's returning to South Tyrol, where he won't just be chasing goals: As the Eisbären announced, Majul will also be taking on a coaching role with the youth teams.
Brixen is also active
The Brixen Falcons also announced their first foreign signing on Saturday. American Grant Docter will strengthen the defense of the Bischofsstadt team, who are looking to revive their attack after a disastrous season. The 24-year-old brings interesting credentials, having played in the USHL and NAHL, considered two of the best US youth leagues. Most recently, the left-handed shooter spent three years as a defenseman for the University of St. Thomas in the NCAA. Brixen is Docter's first stop outside of Europe. "Young, hungry, and determined – Grant is exactly the player who will take our defense to the next level," the Falcons wrote on social media.
