Last Saturday, Maximilian Sölva set up his brother Michael’s two goals in the opening victory against HC Eppan ( 3:1), five days later he scored the golden goal of the evening himself. In the home game against HC Feltre, Kaltern experienced a real rollercoaster ride in front of 185 spectators, at the end of which the South Tyroleans retained the upper hand in the shootout thanks to Sölva and goalie Samuel Rohregger (5:4).
Feltre started with pressure and took a 1-0 lead after just three minutes. The Pikes responded through Florian Wieser (6:08), before the visitors stepped up a gear. Double goals from Jozef Foltin and Bruno Mraz allowed Feltre to race ahead 4-1, allowing them to dream of an away win. But Joonas Alanne (32:22) and Mikael Saha (36:38) pulled one back in the second period. Four minutes before the final whistle, Alanne scored the celebrated 4-4 equaliser, forcing overtime. The game was ultimately decided in a shootout. Feltre, Martin Kadlec, was the only player on the scoresheet, while Kaltern could rely on Alanne, Saha, and Sölva.
Eppan celebrates shooting festival in Toblach
HC Eppan's away game against HC 3 Zinnen Dolomites was considerably more one-sided. The Pirates vented their frustrations after their opening loss to Aosta (2-5) and celebrated a veritable 7-0 victory in Toblach. After eleven minutes, Martin Graf opened the scoring after an assist by Andreas Radin, and in the closing stages of the first period, Daniel Eruzione increased the lead to 2-0 for the visitors.HC Eppan celebrated a shooting festival in Toblach. © HC Eppan
While Toblach received a total of twelve penalty minutes, Eppan played a disciplined game and excelled both defensively and offensively. Tobias Morandell and Matthias Pardatscher made it 4-0 in the second period, and Jack Edward Williamson scored a brace in the final period before Tobias Engl sealed the final score of 7-0. HC 3 Zinnen, however, was not without chances in front of goal: The hosts fired a total of 22 shots – the only thing they couldn't find was the puck.
The Falcons from Brixen, on the other hand, had to accept defeat after their promising 4-2 victory over Valdifiemme. The Eisacktal team suffered a 5-2 defeat at the hands of the Fassa Falcons.
