The master remains true to his Finnish line

During the first few months of summer, SV Kaltern was still quite reserved with squad announcements, but now things are moving fast. After extending the contracts of key players and coach Teemu Virtala, as well as signing some new faces, the Oltradige club announced the signing of their first foreign player this week. He is 34 years old and can look back on an impressive career.
Joonas Alanne hails from Rovaniemi in northern Finland and made his debut in the Finnish top flight in 2013 for the Lahti Pelicans. He played 233 games in the Liiga, scoring 49 points. After his adventure in Lahti, which ended in 2018, the Finn moved to Japan, where he spent two seasons scoring goals for the Nikko Icebucks. Since 2020, he has played in four different countries – Finland, Sweden, France, and Germany. Last season, he scored 44 points in 44 games for the Hammer Eisbären in the Oberliga.
One legionnaire is still missing
Given this resume and these statistics, Kaltern's new signing has the potential to become the IHL's next star. Now it remains to be seen who Alanne's forward partner will be next season, especially since Oskari Siiki is likely leaving the Pikes and Marko Virtala has retired.Edit Profile
