Brutal murder of ice hockey pro: Ex-partner sentenced
The ex-partner of the murdered former Finnish ice hockey professional Janne Puhakka has been sentenced to life imprisonment for murder.

Puhakka was killed in a particularly brutal manner, the court stated. It was proven that the defendant shot the victim twice with a shotgun. Puhakka died at the age of 29.
After the crime in October 2024, police reported that the suspected perpetrator was arrested without resistance at the scene. Finnish media reported that Puhakka's relationship with his ex-partner had ended a few weeks earlier.
