Smooth home win: Unterland turns the final series

The Unterland Cavaliers have come a big step closer to the first championship title in the club's young history. They clearly defeated a disappointing Fiemme 5-1 in the third final game. They now lead 2-1 in the best-of-seven series.

The Cavs laid, as they already did on Tuesday in Cavalese, off to a brilliant start. Fiemme fueled the Unterlandler Sturm und Drang phase with numerous unnecessary penalties. They took the lead with the first power play in the 6th minute: Ruben Zerbetto directed a Sullmann shot into the net. The next goal only took 80 seconds to arrive when guest goalie Simone Peiti allowed Gabriel Galassiti's harmless finish to pass at the near post. But that wasn't enough, because in the 13th minute Filip Kokoska made it 3-0 with a one-timer from the right faceoff circle. This time too, a crack from Fiemme Valley was simmering in the penalty box.

The Trentino team, coached by Erwin Kostner, offered the around 200 visiting fans bitter ice hockey food. They probably enjoyed Daniel Grassl's show more. A few seconds before the second half-time siren, Fiemme took advantage of a careless Neumarkt loss of the target to make it 1:4 by Jaroslav Moucka, but there was no real tension in the game. This was also because Vojtech Dobias definitely put the home team on the road to victory in the 54th with her third power play goal of the evening. After that, the Cavs didn't let anything go wrong.

The best-of-seven series now moves back to Cavalese, 20 kilometers away, where Unterland can take a significant step towards the championship title with their third victory on Saturday (19.30:XNUMX p.m.).
