Another old acquaintance for Milan

HC Milano has continued its shopping spree. On Friday, the ICE Hockey League newcomer announced another Italian-Canadian signing.

Chad Pietroniro is moving to Milan and will make his ICE Hockey League debut there. The offensively minded defenseman previously scored 68 goals, 70 assists, and a plus/minus rating of +37 in 207 games in the Alps Hockey League for Asiago, Merano, and Cortina.

Throughout his career, the 30-year-old has impressed with his versatility and has been able to play in various positions. In Milan coach Shedden's sporting concept, Pietroniro is intended to strengthen the defense. His arrival in Milan also marks a return to his family roots.

Father, a Milanese legend

His father, Marco Pietroniro, was a defining figure in Milanese ice hockey during the 1990s, playing for the Rossoblù. He played and captained the team at the Agorà ice rink and, like his son Chad today, was known for his versatility. This versatility seems to run in the family: Chad is the second youngest of five brothers who played ice hockey, and their careers have frequently intersected.
