Leon Draisaitl climbs up important list

Leon Draisaitl extended his lead in the scoring charts with his 46th goal of the season and led the Edmonton Oilers to a hard-fought NHL home win against the Montreal Canadiens.

In the 3-2 win after extra time, the national ice hockey player assisted Evan Bouchard’s winning goal seven seconds before the end.

For the Oilers, it was the second win in the last three games in the North American professional league, but the team had previously suffered five defeats in a row. In the Pacific Division, the team remains in second place and thus in a playoff spot.

For Draisaitl, it was his 393rd goal for the Edmonton Oilers, moving him up to fourth place on the all-time list and only three others ahead of him in the history of the Canadian team. At the top is Canada's ice hockey icon Wayne Gretzky with 583 goals for the Oilers.
