Leon Draisaitl reaches NHL milestone

German ice hockey star Leon Draisaitl has reached the 900-point mark in his career in the North American ice hockey league.

Draisaitl handed out three assists in the Edmonton Oilers’ 3-2 (0-2, 1-0, 1-0) home win after overtime against the Boston Bruins.

"It feels good. Of course I'm proud of myself, but you can't achieve such milestones without your teammates," said Draisaitl.

In the first minute of overtime, Draisaitl was stopped by the Bruins goalkeeper, but Mattias Ekholm scored the winning goal for Edmonton. The Oilers had saved themselves in overtime with Connor McDavid's 2-2 equalizer two and a half minutes before the end of the third period. Draisaitl now has 50 points this season and leads the league together with Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon.
