NHL match overshadowed by tragedy

The NHL game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the St. Louis Blues was overshadowed by tragedy.

According to the Penguins, a fan fell from the upper tier of PPG Paints Arena and was transported to a nearby hospital after receiving first aid from an emergency medical team. Pittsburgh police told the Pittsburgh Post that the man is in critical condition.

"Our concern at this time continues to be with the injured player and his family," the Penguins wrote. Star player Sidney Crosby was also thinking of the injured player after Pittsburgh's 6-3 victory. "It doesn't feel right to talk about points when you hear something like this," he said. "Of course, our thoughts and prayers are with this individual and his family, and we hope they are doing well."

In the second NHL game of the evening, the Ottawa Senators celebrated a comfortable 7-2 victory over the Boston Bruins. While Ottawa secured their third consecutive win, the Bruins suffered their seventh loss in their last eight games.
