Top Swiss talent makes all of Dallas dream

The Dallas Stars remain unstoppable in the world's best ice hockey league, the NHL. One of the reasons: the 21-year-old Lian Bichsel from Switzerland.

The 6-1 victory against the Vancouver Canucks last night (CET) was the Texans' ninth consecutive win. This set a new franchise record for the Stars. With 83 points, they are currently the second-best team in the NHL, behind Colorado.

Bichsel, who was developed in Sweden and drafted in the first round in 2022, was the key to victory with two goals. This was only his third game since returning from a three-month injury layoff. The defenseman thus scored two goals for the first time in his NHL career.

Alongside Bichsel, Jason Robertson emerged as the second game-winner against the Canucks, who only started strong. He recorded a goal and an assist, reaching the season milestone of 70 points. This marks the fifth consecutive season in which Robertson has scored 70 points or more. He is, along with Patrick Kane, the only active U.S.-born hockey player to achieve this feat. Furthermore, in Stars franchise history, only Tyler Seguin, with six consecutive 70-point seasons, has a better record.

Last night's NHL results:

Nashville Predators – Detroit Red Wings 2:4
New York Rangers – Columbus Blue Jackets 4:5 aet
Toronto Maple Leafs – Philadelphia Flyers 2:3 nP
Seattle Kraken – Carolina Hurricanes 2:1
Vancouver Canucks – Dallas Stars 1:6
Los Angeles Kings – Colorado Avalanche 2:4
