Italy's World Cup anticipation: The schedule is now available

After a four-year absence, Italy will return to a top-division World Cup next year. The Azzurri now know their schedule.

The Blue Team's anticipation of the top division was already evident during their promotion in Romania this spring. After four years in "purgatory," Italy will once again be allowed to participate in a World Cup with the world's best teams in 2026. The World Cup will take place in Switzerland, where Italy will compete in the group stage in Fribourg.

The opening match in Group B will be a clash with Canada. Italy is the clear underdog – which will certainly be the case in most World Cup appearances. Important for coach Jukka Jalonen's team will be the clash with Norway (Matchday 3), as well as the final group matches against Denmark and Slovenia. These matches will likely determine whether the Blue Team will remain in the elite group.

Finland, USA, Switzerland, Germany, Latvia, Austria, Hungary and Great Britain play in Group A.
