Return after 18 years: World Cup venue confirmed

The IIHF decided on the venue for the 2029 World Championship at a congress during the World Championship in Stockholm.

The 2029 Ice Hockey World Championship will be held in Slovakia. As in 2011 and 2019, the games will be played in Bratislava and Kosice. The awarding of the host country was a mere formality. Although Great Britain and Hungary were also unofficially considered, Slovakia ultimately emerged as the only formal bidder. The next World Championships will be held in Zurich and Freiburg (2026), Düsseldorf and Mannheim (2027), and Paris and Lyon (2028).
