Damian Clara will not soon forget this evening: The Reischach goalkeeper jewel celebrated a very special premiere on Thursday.

Damian Clara is considered a great goalkeeping talent in Europe. The 20-year-old from Reischach has a contract with the NHL club Anaheim Ducks and is playing on loan at Färjestad BK in the Swedish top league this season. Clara has had to learn a lot there this year, but now he is celebrating a special premiere.

On Thursday in the home game against Timra IK, the 1,97 meter tall man celebrated his first shutout in the SHL, which is considered one of the best leagues in the world, in a 3-0 victory. Clara had 25 shots on goal, but not a single one went past the South Tyrolean model athlete. This was a relief for Clara, as he hasn't always had it easy this year and has spent most of the last few weeks sitting on the bench.

The Reischacher was celebrated not only by his teammates, but also by the approximately 8.000 fans in the Löfbergs Arena. The party then continued in the dressing room. "It feels damn good," said Clara after the match. Färjestad is currently in second place in the table, six points behind leaders Brynäs IF. And: Clara and his team are in the final of the Champions Hockey League. There the Swedes will face the ZSC Lions from Switzerland on February 2th.
