Large contingent at the home World Cup in Sestriere

After the World Cup, the Ski World Cup continues in rapid succession. The women are back in action on Friday.

Two giant slaloms and a slalom will take place in Sestriere from Friday to Sunday. Three South Tyroleans will be taking part: Elisa Platino (giant slalom), Celina Haller and Vera Tschurtschenthaler (both slalom). A total of 17 Azzurre have been nominated for the home World Cup in Piedmont - near the French border. These include Federica Brignone, Sofia Goggia, the struggling Marta Bassino and Giorgia Collomb.

The 18-year-old team world champion will take part in the Junior World Championships in Tarvisio next week. There are also three South Tyroleans there. In Sestriere, the azure blue hopes rest primarily on Federica Brignone. The giant slalom world champion has a lead of 70 points over Lara Gut-Behrami in the overall World Cup and wants to win the big crystal globe for the second time this year.
