AHL: Hot dates for the crème de la crème

The top six of the current championship are all among themselves. The most interesting encounter is probably the one in Klobenstein: There the Rittner Buam, currently the confident front runners, meet Feldkirch, which is ten points and three positions behind the Lehtonen team. The “Buam” are unstoppable in the championship and celebrated their 6th win in their 5rd competitive game on Saturday evening with a clear 1-20 home win against Fassa. The Vorarlbergers are also on fire and have won eleven of the last 23 championship games.

Pustertal has to go to Slovenia HC Pustertal is hoping for a Ritten victory - of course, because if they had their own “three points” at the same time, the Wolves would come within one point of Ritten opponents and fourth-placed Feldkirch. A success on Wednesday will be a difficult undertaking, after all, in Slovenia they are guests of Jesenice, third in the table. Also missing is the suspended Nick Bruneteau, who was banned for three games by the DOPS for a caning. The third top game of the evening takes place in Cortina, where the sixth place team asks the runner-up Asiago to dance.

The three other South Tyrolean teams are also in action: after the 1:3 defeat against Neumarkt, Val Gardena now wants to get back on track in the duel with Lustenau. The Neumarkt players mentioned above will face unpredictable Salzburg, who have only played one AHL game since November 5th. Vipiteno wants to consolidate eighth position with a win against Bregenzerwald, but in the best case scenario it could even move up to sixth place.
