The Dolomitencup is getting closer
Although the ice hockey seasons have already ended almost everywhere, preparations for the upcoming winter are in full swing. This includes the Dolomiten Cup in Neumarkt, which begins in exactly two months.

The mercury in the thermometer is soaring, lounge chairs are lined up next to each other in the swimming pools, and the days seem to never end. Yes, midsummer is approaching in South Tyrol with every hour – and with it the ice hockey-free season? No, not at all! Because even in the warmer months, ice hockey fever is raging in this region, more specifically in Neumarkt. From August 15th to 17th – exactly two months from now – the 19th edition of the Dolomitencup will take place in the Würtharena.
Preparations for the prestigious preparatory tournament are in full swing, as ice hockey fans from all over Europe will once again be descending on the southern part of South Tyrol. They don't want to miss this ice hockey treat: With the Czech runner-up Dynamo Pardubice, the DEL club Lions Frankfurt, the Norwegian record champion Vålerenga Ishockey and cult club EV Landshut Four big-name teams from the second German league will come to Neumarkt.
The Dolomiten Cup opens on Friday, August 15, at 20 p.m. with the first semifinal between Dynamo Pardubice and EV Landshut. The following day, Löwen Frankfurt and Vålerenga Ice Hockey will face off at the same time. Sunday, August 17, is the final day – with the third-place match starting at 3:15.45 p.m. and the grand final starting at 20 p.m.
Numerous spectators are expected again this year, and the Würtharena is always packed to capacity. Tickets for the prestigious preparatory tournament in Neumarkt are still available online.
